Music in the Womb Benefits Baby

Did you know that a baby's sense of hearing is fully developed at just 20 weeks in the womb?  At 28 weeks they can recognize voices.  Belly Buds is a safe and comfortable way to share music and voices with your baby using skin-safe, disposable, hydrogel adhesive rings that secure the bellybuds to the unique and changing curves of a pregnant belly.  The BellyBuds Custom bellyphone® speakers gently adhere to the belly and play directly in the womb.  This allows your baby to hear prenatal music and voices.

Just look at the many ways that parents are using Bellybuds to promote bonding with baby:
  • Military moms are playing recorded messages from husbands overseas
  • Adopting couples are sending their voices for the birth mom to play to her belly
  • OB/GYNs are helping turn the baby “toward camera” for ultrasound pictures
  • Moms with breech babies are helping turn the baby downwards
You and your baby can share music in the womb together while you work out or relax.  The 3.5 mm standard audio jack is compatible with the iPod as well as most other digital audio devices.

Another great feature is the ability to utilize VoiceShare technology even with those that are away from home.  Grandparents, deployed dads-to-be and other friends and family can simply log in at the Bellybuds website and record their message.  The mom will receive an email with the message attached that she can download and start sharing with baby.

BellyBuds has so many benefits for both mom and baby that it makes the perfect mom-to-be present.  Start sharing with baby today!  You can purchase BellyBuds at GreenPea Baby where you earn rewards with every purchase.  Take 10% off today by entering bellybuds at checkout!

Cutest Take Me Home Outfit!

A take me home outfit should be beautiful and comfortable for baby.  Some parents simply put the baby in a onesie but other parents want a special outfit for pictures and keepsakes.  Whichever camp you are in, there are a few things to consider:

  • A newborn outfit does not mean that it will always fit like a glove.  Generally speaking, most newborn outfits are intended for a 7-9 lb. baby.  If your baby falls toward the lesser amount, you may find that it seems big.  If the doctor is saying that it looks like you will be having a small baby, see if you can get some idea of weight, but keep in mind, this is only an estimate.  Plenty of parents have went to delivery expecting a 6lb baby and been surprised when an 8 pounder comes out. If the doctor is telling you that your baby is small, you may want to consider a preemie outfit.
  • If you want a sweet newborn cap to adorn their head, look for one that actually comes in a newborn size.  Usually a baby hat that only comes in small and not a newborn size, will not fit a newborn's head.
  • Newborn Hat
  • Look for gowns and loose fitting baby clothing.  Baby gowns will make the size not as big of an issue and it makes for easy diaper changes.  The Serena and Lily Take Me Home Outfit is one of our customer favorites.  Some baby gowns convert to a romper later which means that you get more outfit for your money!  Also keep in mind that your baby's umbilical cord stump will still be attached so you don't want to have an outfit with elastic pants that may cut across that area.
